Justin Hinds and the Dominoes return this summer for North American festivals and concert appearances:

1997 was a banner year for Nighthawk recording artist Justin Hinds and his band.  Playing his first ever US tour – a dramatic event for an artist whose career virtually spans the entire history of Jamaican music – Justin has stepped forward with authority to claim the audience which is rightfully his after more than 30 years of recording.  His live performances reveal a quality about the man and his music, which has been missing in much of modern reggae – the passion, sensitivity and spirituality that are hallmarks of the great reggae artists.

1998 has already brought a huge leap in visibility for Justin on record and with the press. In January, Island Records released 'The Wingless Angels,' a side project he recorded with his good friend of twenty-plus years, Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.  This set of Rasta bredren, all friends and neighbors, surprised everyone in the reggae world with a CD that captures all the charm of a front-porch roots ‘grounation.’  (For full details, see Billboard, Oct. 4, 1997).  Also of interest is an album released in January by the Coyabalites, which features Justin as guest vocalist singing a ska medley.  This mainly instrumental band also hails from the North Coast.  The album features great players like Vin Gordon and Maxwell Hinds from Justin’s band, as well as legendary guitarist Ernest Ranglin, and the last recordings by keyboard master Harold Butler, who passed away just before the CD was released in Jamaica.

Justin Hinds and the Dominoes will be on tour this summer, performing at festivals and concert venues.  In mid February, Justin and the band were among the headline performers at two Bob Marley Day Festivals in California.  They will be coming back in June, for an extended North American tour, in time for seasonal festivals around the US and Canada.  With his roots in Ska, (now so popular everywhere) and Rock-Steady, Justin's live show draws a diverse audience.  Now young listeners can discover, and older audiences rediscover, the timeless appeal of a classic artist.  Nighthawk Records provides management and promotional support for Justin’s tour appearances with press kits, glossies, poster art, etc.  Bookings are now being accepted for this summer's live engagements.  I hope we can count on your support to help grow the audience for an artist who has truly earned his legendary reputation – Justin Hinds.
